I wish there was a real rating system for lawyers with real statistics showing how effective they actually are. I would bet that Smathers and Smathers would hold the record in the entire State of NC for dragging out cases. Settled cases don't earn fees. It's a disgrace.

Zeb Smathers is a very reputable lawyer, whose father was an excellent attorney, as well. This was my first time ever dealing with him, and I wasnt disappointed. Very impressed. He is very intelligent, knowledgeable, with a big personality, likeable,and in my particular case very affordable. Made me feel comfortable and at ease. I would recommend him to anyone. Did take a month and a half to be able to be seen by him, but was worth the wait. He's a hometown lawyer with a big city reputation to get it done. Gave me great advice also, before he even took my case.
