I was left feeling nothing less than robbed. I hired Dennis McCarthy and he was the most unprofessional attorney I’ve ever worked with. He charged a flat fee for a show cause for child support. I was found guilty and sentenced to jail because my attorney, the one I hired to represent me, hired to prepare for trial. He did nothing! The ONLY thing he did was to call and make sure he was paid his money. After that he did nothing!! And further blamed me for him not having material be never asked for, in fact when I tried to ask what documents he wanted me to get him he said nothing and chopped it up to “it will be fine, DCSE will have everything”. When he showed up late after being called into court, he sat down and made it clear he was going to ‘wing it’. He failed to properly represent me and failed to look out for what was in my best interests and direct me towards what was going to give me the best outcome. He did nothing more but take me and my families money. Absolutely shameful to see this arrogance continue to prevail.

I have to say I am extremely impressed and appreciative of Darren Meyers. I hired him a year ago to be my lawyer. He was successful in delivering me with exactly what he said he would. Just recently I needed additional assistance with this case and he wasn't too sure if things were going to work in my favor. He remained optimistic throughout the whole process. At the end, it ended up working out in my favor. For that, I had to thank him tremendously and HIGHLY recommend him to others. He dedicated a lot of his time and put me at the top of his priority list. When hiring Mr. Meyers you do not have to think twice!

John Spencer is the best lawyer in this area in my experience. He answered all my questions, delivered exactly what he had promised me. He communicated with me in all aspects of my case. He made me and my family feel as if I were his only case. He was so down to earth and easy to talk to. This guy is the greatest!

We have had this firm represent us for 6 months now. Our first attorney, Christopher Reyes, was unresponsive and did not follow through with his promise to file a motion on our behalf. He did not respond to letters, emails, or phone messages. After 5 months his license to practice law in VA was suspended for this unprofessional and unethical behavior and he, nor his firm, notified us that he was no longer able to represent us. After calling and writing several times we were appointed another attorney, Price Koch. In the 4 weeks he has had our case, he has missed a deadline that he set himself, failed to file our motion, has ignored repeated phone messages, emails, written letters and text messages. It has become clear to us that our experience with Christopher Reyes was not isolated to one poor attorney but instead may be a widespread issue within the entire firm. If you need a criminal defense, in our opinion these people will not be working with or for you when you are at your most vulnerable.

Darren Meyer has demonstrated his excellence as an outstanding and exceptional lawyer from Spencer, Meyer & Loch. Very grateful for his services regarding my case in court. His staff, office very professional, kind and willing to be assistance on a dime.
