I really appreciated the help. Mr. Balk was very courteous and professional. The office does have some struggles with communication though. I called to check on the progress of my case 2 weeks after mediation but was told the mediator notes had not been received by the office yet. When I said I had received a copy of the notes the day after the mediation session the assistant was able to find the notes. Later that same day I received a letter from the office saying they had tried to reach me to schedule an appt to go over the mediation notes. I was very frustrated by that. When I was given a court appearance date over the phone I was not told I would be a "walk-in" appointment so when I arrived at the courthouse I was not listed on the registration board, the circuit clerk did not know where I was supposed to be, and the bailiff initially turned me away because I wasn't registered for that day. The confusion caused me to have an anxiety attack which was very uncomfortable. Fortunately I was still able to go back as a walk-in and accomplish what I needed to that morning. I would recommend this office however I do think clients will need to be proactive about moving their cases along.
