If you have another option other than this company during open enrollment-take it! I have to call them weekly to ask for a status and no one knows what they are doing or what's happening with your case. The answer is always "we received the documents from your doctor and your claim is pending" or check your claim status online. Obviously cases are not updated online either. Dealing with the Hartford is a job within itself week after week. Being on short or long term disability and dealing with this company is stressful and extremely aggravating. I will definitely take the time to report them to the proper channel ASAP.
I have been on short term disability leave since 08/25/23. Today is 09/27/23. I have endlessly sent information over, I have called my doctor, my work and worst of all, the Hartford. You can expect to be on hold sometimes for 45 min and can’t expect any of your needs to be met sincerely, this is entirely on your shoulders to workout. I am on leave for PTSD related issues, this has caused me a great deal of emotional grief ontop of what I’ve already been going through. The claim was dead for the first few weeks with little movement, uploaded endless documents, have been waiting since 09/18/23 for clinical review, only to finally hear back today that additional information is needed, which has now jeopardized my ability to pay for my energy bills and rent given that this now resets the review timeout for another 7-10 business days. I had plan to use my Paid time off in last emergency but my payroll was locked out. My spouse is pregnant and I don’t have any other options but to attempt to return to work in a mad scramble to scrounge funds together. I’m completely broken and demoralized by this unprofessional conduct. Me and my family have faced a great deal of emotional suffering added in with this. If I had any kind of civil suit power I certainly would pursue it, if only to understand the root of this problem and so others couldn’t be disregarded in such a way again. I have until the end of tomorrow to figure this out or I’m in a very tenuous position more than I am now. Please help.
They take your money. But when u file a claim there are road blocks. Stay away. Reps don't return voicemail calls. Reps not in the office when u need them.
Terrible company. My employer seems to have outsourced dealing with medical leave to this company. Every step of the way it's now my problem. The Hartford keeps denying my paternity leave even though my boss says it say it's approved. Instead of them dealing with it I have to submit tickets and constantly call them. Absolutely terrible experience. I also find it funny every review here is negative but they have an above 3 star review.
BUYER BEWARE!!! Hartford Insurance is an EMBEZZLING FRAUDULENT Company. Their aim is NOT to Help in your time of need but to Interrogate and Investigate and Harass the very ones who were depending on them to 'Do' as Promised, to Provide the Services they promised. I selected The Hartford Insurance company several years ago based on compassionate advertisement and the detailed coverage information given by their customer service personnel. In July 2016, I filed a claim to cover water damage in my condo. This was the most horrendous experience! The Adjuster assigned to me assured me that they were going to move fast to 'Help' me, what followed, the Adjuster bought in two examiners who for two (2) months (through September 2016) INTERROGATED, Investigated and Recorded me under the pretense that the questions and delay in paying for my coverage was to assure me the maximum benefit and that they needed information to make accountable the third party (Condo Insurance company) This was the first claim I had ever filed, I was totally unaware that they were not helping but attempting to find any loopholes to build a case 'against me.' I was harassed with criminal questioning and investigations for two (2) months (through September 2016)- I was already distraught with my living conditions and the damage of my unit then next to be further insulted and then 'denied' by the company I PAID TO PROTECT ME!! Hillary Clinton what will you do about these large insurance companies robbing and deceiving its customers?? Donald Trump what law or provision can you suggest for the average consumer that will force these money hunger thieves to stop pillaging and taking advantage of the innocent and pay up in our times of need!???! Senators we need your help to make The Hartford Accountable... I was deceived and I will contact the Department of Insurance and I suggest others in my position to do likewise - Perhaps a Class Acton Suit is needed!!!!!!!
