I’m a Marine Corps veteran suffers from PTSD served in OIFOEF which I received awards for my service over there self medicated and suffered from substance abuse for the first part of me getting out of the built military because of that I lost my family I hired this man Three months prior to my court hearing he requested no information. I talked to him twice on the phone once on intake the second time was four days before my hearing. and he didn’t even know who I was when I called his secretary she confirmed that he didn’t know who I was in the email and that he has so many cases I was informed by him and his secretary, not to bring anything on my case showing that my ex-wife was violating the divorce decree on the day of my hearing he showed up late was reading my divorce decree and checking his Facebook after we got a ruling I question the service I received he quit, and proceeded to make fun of me, because of my past, and the deal that he got me with the judge. This man is very unprofessional. His secretary is nice, but it’s only because she’s told to be I would not recommend this to any veterans and I encourage anyone to do a little research before they hire this guy, anyone who claims that claims aren’t true feel free to contact me through this post. Fantastic lawyer! I took my divorce case to Mr. Disrud when the original lawyer I hired stalled the process and didn’t make any progress. Mr. Disrud handled everything, including informing the other lawyer that their services were no longer needed. Once Mr. Disrud took over, my divorce progressed and was finalized. Since my divorce, I have had Mr. Disrud also take care of a modification order and an enforcement order. If needed, I would use Mr. Disrud’s services again.

I hired Disrud for representation in a VA benefits claim case. After 8 months I fired him when a US Congressional Inquiry (TX21) revealed his practice violates three Federal Laws. Acting upon complaints of Stolen Valor and Veterans Benefit Fraud as well as a request from TX Rep Diego Bernal, HD123 the Texas Veterans Commission(TVC) filed a complaint that led to establishing Disrud's admitted wrongdoing by illegally offering services (for which he's unqualified), taking advanced payments (for services never rendered) and taking payments from Veterans without pre-approval from VA. All three directly violate federal law governing VA representation. So far Disrud's only been ordered to return the money illegally taken from the Veteran cited in TVC's complaint.
