I hired Jim Rife for a family member that was in jail for drug possession charges. Mr Rife was great to talk to on the phone and even went to see my family member in jail. Seemed to care and seemed like a good choice. After he received his money ($2250) he didn't have the time of day for us. Trying to find out a court date, or any information as far as speaking with the DA on his behalf was clearly a bother.nI even at one point worried that something had happened to Mr Rife because he wouldn't return a phone call, email or message. 24 hours before the court date I reached out to see if he had spoken with the DA as he one time mentioned he would be speaking with him. He then told me he had the flu and nothing could be done other than to wait another month for the next court date. By this time, my family member had been in jail over 8 month and it was reasonable to expect him to get out and go to a rehab facility that was paid for was waiting for him. He didn't care about that at all, and told me I was unreasonable to even ask if he could speak with any other attonrney to help out or call the DA on the phone. We had to hire another attorney (Holloway law firm) who did more in 18 hours than John Rife did in the six weeks he could have. He was unwilling to give us back any money that we paid him even though he didn't do anything to earn the money he charged us.n Please don't trust him. I wish I had called Mr Holloway first.
