It has its ups and downs sure. As far as the terminal itself is concerned, the staff are usually very nice in all departments. Of course with it being the HQ it’s going to be a lot better than other locations. My biggest issue is with other drivers mainly. The state some of these showers are left in is just disgusting. And honestly, with all the hair shavings left in the sinks? If a wizard wanted to use them for a spell, he’d have a field day. Not that they are always in use but the laundry room needs an update and fixes. Some of those units have been out of service for months now. (And please for the love switch over to the app system like all the other terminal have). Other reviews say their managers don’t do things or just have the driver sit around…you have a voice, believe it or not, use it. Sure some of the loads are weird but by all means tell me one company that doesn’t have them. In the maintenance side, the crew is hit and miss on personal warmth, but they still get the job done. And if there’s still an ongoing issue…see above about management. The museum is cool, trucks could use some TLC though. The other facilities are good too (though the billiards table is still broken and needs to be repaired.)
Would not recommend even a bit. They will fire you or get a reason to do it when you get to your 10 months mark or anywhere close. They will be nice to you for the first two to three months. Will treat you like a human being but pass that time you are just a number. They will mess up your driving record when they let you go or when you decide to leave (they do it to make you feel like they’re your only option) so that other companies won’t take you. I promise you they are not your only option, they are other companies out there that will hire you just do your research. Make sure to use them the same way they use you by ensuring that you getting paid ever since mile you drive and all of the time they have you out and away from your loved one if you ever decide to go with them. By the way, they will always back their fleet managers (never the driver, you will always be wrong no matter how right you are) no matter you say and do. I did my part warned you!!!
Don’t work here they let me go while on leave for surgery. They sent someone to move my truck to get the trailer they took what they wanted stealing from me and through all my stuff out on the side of the road getting ruined. So when I someone went to clear the truck out for me for them to get it because I was still in recovery that was the result then they conveniently let me go. Terrible place to work for. You get sick almost dying and they showed their true colors about not caring for their drivers.
I am a new driver just out of driving school. I came to Werner and was pleased with the staff's warm welcoming! Werner has done a fantastic job with their training program and safety program and I know that I can trust my leadership in this way. They are constantly looking out for me and helping me along the way. This is a great company to be successful at. I'm really looking forward to getting on my route!
Doing business for this company is a drag. You have to email them 10 times just to get approval on extra charges to be billed, then your accounting department has to send them emails consistently to collect payment. Bad business ethics.
