Reviews

The best
My husband and I had the misfortune of being recommended Amy Hespenheide by a trusted source. He hired Amy to write our prenuptial agreement and I hired my own lawyer to review and modify on my account. Our “first draft” took her office two months to “create” and was beyond unusable. It was working under a bunch of assumptions that were not based on our needs or requests and was so poorly written it continually referred to both my spouse and I in multiple genders (I was both he and she in said document and he was both he and she in said document). I’m certain I could have drafted something closer to what we wanted and I have no background or understanding of law. We should have known to switch lawyers then and there, but we only had two months left at this point and were nervous that if we did that then we would have no document. Amy dragged the process out to the literal final day, adding an extreme amount of stress to what should have been a smooth process given that my spouse and I agreed on the basics of what we wanted and were interested in working together to craft a document that fit both of our needs. In the end, we both signed a document we were vaguely ok with, stressed about time pressures and wanting to never deal with this office again. If I hadn’t had my own very competent and quick to respond lawyer, I’m certain this document would not have been completed. It is my belief that because Amy charges by the hour and not by the document that she purposely made this process as long and painful as possible. My lawyer, who charged a flat fee based on the document, was faster to respond, listened to our wishes, and ended up being ¼ the price for 100 times better of an experience. Avoid this office, keep your sanity and your money, and find someone who listens to what you want as opposed to someone who creates problems where before there were none.
