Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I had a family law case where the facts were very difficult. I was able to secure orders from the judge that helped protect my client and her children.

How did you build a successful practice?

I built it one day at a time. I began in 2001, with a stack of business cards (that I made myself), a landline telephone, a desk, and a computer. I ran the business out of my house. I began by being there for my clients, and I continued that throughout my practice. Today, I have an office in Anthem with a friendly and helpful staff.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for a lawyer that is responsive. The biggest reason I am hired by a client (who has worked with another lawyer) was because the lawyer did not return his or her calls or emails. If the lawyer is too busy to be responsive or too unorganized to be responsive, the client is not going to get the services that he or she needs.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

In a free phone consultation, I can provide the client with some guidance on what will happen procedurally in the case. We can talk about the next steps for what the case needs for moving forward.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

In addition to practicing law, I love to read. I read EVERYTHING…I read about 30 magazines a month which do include legal magazines, but I also read about fashion, cooking, home life, news, etc. I usually am also reading about 5-6 books at the same time. I love to read about business and time management, and I love true crime and reading biographies as well. I also love basketball, and I have been a Suns season ticket holder for 5 years. Movies are a passion, and I love horror and superhero movies.

Are you involved in your community?

Oh, yes! I have a lot of involvement in the community. I have been a member of a local business network (the BNA) since 2001. We are a group of all different professionals that exchange leads. My daughter is a dancer at the DMDA, and I support the school as a volunteer as well. I am involved in legal groups, such as the AWLA and with the Federal Law Clinic. I am active at my church, and I am a financial counselor at the church.
