Andres Alfonso, a Bogota, Colombia native who was raised in Miami, is a dedicated first-party property insurance attorney in our Miami office. Andres’s educational journey began at Doral Academy Preparatory, where he excelled in both academics and sports, specifically five years of Varsity soccer. Subsequently, he pursued higher education at Spring Hill College, where he showcased his soccer prowess as a Division II athlete for all four years. Throughout his undergraduate years, Andres actively engaged in community service initiatives, such as tutoring underprivileged students and teaching English to immigrants, reflecting his deep commitment to social impact. He also played a vital role in a program called “Belong,” where he assisted Central Immigrants in navigating the challenging landscape of being undocumented immigrants in Alabama. Lori has a passion for helping those in need who cannot speak or stand up for themselves. After graduating with a bachelor’s in psychology, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Central Florida she made the decision to obtain her master’s degree in social work to help the most vulnerable population- children. After working with high-risk children and adolescents for several years, she decided to return to school and obtain her law degree at Florida State University, where she graduated With Honors in 2005. Since 2005, Lori has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in many areas of law including personal injury, employment law, and contract disputes. Prior to joining MLG, Lori was a partner at a small law insurance defense firm and a Litigation Manager for a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm. Michael was born and raised in Florida. He spent much of his youth working in orange groves and watermelon fields in Central Florida. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Utah State University in 2008, Michael pursued a law degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law. Thomas Gilbert is an attorney licensed in Florida and New Jersey. Mr. Gilbert received his bachelor’s degree in secondary education and social sciences from the University of Tampa and his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Riverview, Florida. While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Gilbert interned at the St. Michael’s Legal Center, a pro bono legal clinic focusing on family law issues. After graduating from law school, Mr. Gilbert served as a judicial law clerk in the Family Division of the New Jersey Superior Court. During his clerkship, Mr. Gilbert conducted legal research, analyzed legal data, and prepared legal memoranda for the Family Division judges.
