I recently won a $20 Million Dollar settlement for a Fatal Car/Truck Accident case. Mr. Petri has been a long-time resident of Indiana. He attended high school in Hammond, Indiana. He later attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, after which he served several years in the U.S. Governmental Service. His experiences in the service inspired him to enroll in law school, and the skills he gained during his service were an invaluable foundation for the practice of law. He graduated from Indiana University School of Law in 1966, and was immediately elected Prosecuting Attorney for Owen County. He served as Prosecuting Attorney until 1974. Since 1974, Mr. Petri has owned and operated his own legal practice, known today as Vernon J. Petri & Associates. Mr. Petri has significant professional and leadership experience. He has served a term as President to the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Association, as well as several years on the organization’s board of directors. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. Lastly, he has served on the National Board of Directors of the Breast Implant Litigation Group of the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Petri has been named to the Million Dollar Forum, which is exclusively reserved for attorneys who earn verdicts and settlements in excess of $1,000,000. Even in the face of adversity, he has consistently obtained favorable verdicts for his clients. In his 40+ years of practice, he has fought to expand the rights of those injured in Indiana by exploring new theories of negligence, and in many cases, appealing them all the way to the Supreme Court of Indiana.

Jonathan Armiger helps individuals and families in Indiana recover money for injuries or death caused by the careless acts of others. Nick Deets has been a partner with Hovde Dassow + Deets in Indianapolis since 2001. His primary areas of practice are personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, and wrongful death. He has tried more than 80 jury trials to verdict. Bruce began his professional career as a registered physical therapist. This experience helped form a unique perspective on how law relates to the practice of medicine and the lives of seriously injured people. While medical legal issues have been one focus of Bruce’s practice, he is equally familiar with negligence law and product liability. As Bruce owns and operates the firm’s private aircraft, he is particularly knowledgeable in aviation law. His tenacity in pursuing fair and equitable compensation for clients is evident in a variety of complex cases, including birth injuries, brain and spinal cord injuries, defective products, and airplane and helicopter crashes. Personally, Bruce has been a pilot for more than 25 years. He has flown a Piper Saratoga, Piper Seneca II and more recently a Cirrus SR22. Bruce’s piloting experience has been an invaluable resource for the firm’s airplane accident litigation practice helping clients who have suffered tremendous loss in both private and corporate aircraft related accidents. Over the last 25 years, Bruce has been able to combine his nationally recognized trial skills with his experience owning and operating private aircraft. Bruce has been honored with the 2001 Indiana Trial Lawyer of the Year award and induction into the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. He also served as the president of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association through 2009. Bruce is currently a board member of the Whitewater Valley Pro Bono Commission. Both Bruce and his partner, Bill Winingham, have served as President of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana Foundation and engaged in providing funding for brain injury research particularly focused on concussive injuries confronting our troops returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. In Bruce’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, boating, flying, and biking. Bruce also volunteers for Gleaner’s Food Bank and can oftentimes be heard on WFYI’s Public Radio Challenge grants throughout the year.
