About Frank

Frank Nofer was awarded his B.B.A. summa cum laude from the Temple University School of Business and Management in 1989, where he pursued a dual major in economics and finance. While at Temple, he was nominated to the Beta Gamma Sigma and Golden Key National Honor Societies. Mr. Nofer was awarded his law degree in 1993 from the Villanova University School of Law.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Nofer joined a well-established Philadelphia area defense litigation firm where he was involved in litigating catastrophic personal injury and property damage claims. While with his former firm, Mr. Nofer's primary areas of practice included the defense of complex products liability, construction accident, premises liability, fire damage, motor vehicle, and professional liability claims on behalf of corporate and individual defendants. Mr. Nofer also handled a wide variety of insurance coverage disputes including claims for bad faith.

Mr. Nofer joined Powell Trachtman in 2004, where he continues to focus his attention on complex civil litigation and trial practice. Mr. Nofer devotes a substantial part of his practice to the representation of architects, engineers, and other professionals involved in commercial and industrial construction projects. Mr. Nofer’s involvement in these matters has resulted in the successful resolution of many multi-million dollar claims in both state, federal, and arbitration forums. Mr. Nofer also frequently consults with his clients on loss prevention issues, as well as contract drafting and review. Additionally, Mr. Nofer continues to be called upon to defend a wide variety of products liability and general catastrophic property and personal injury claims for his clients arising in a number of states including, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Illinois. On behalf of his clients, Mr. Nofer has also served as appellate counsel in the state courts for both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Part of Mr. Nofer’s practice has involved the representation of individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries from workplace accidents, construction accidents, nursing home accidents, medical mistakes, and the negligence of others. Mr. Nofer’s knowledge of state consumer protection laws has also frequently been sought by residential real estate purchasers, who have been the victims of sharp practices when purchasing their family homes.

Mr. Nofer is admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He has also represented clients in a number of other states through pro hac vice admissions. He maintains memberships in the state and local bar associations.
