PRACTICE AREAS
Mr. Heppell has practiced law in Solano County since 1977. His civil practice is concentrated in the following areas:
Real Estate: Representation of individuals and institutions in cases involving allegations of fraud, construction defect and breach of contract, Litigation involving easements, leases, quiet title, purchase-and-sale agreements and security issues. Land-use (CEQA) and zoning matters. Representation of public agency in eminent domain and inverse condemnation cases.
Construction: Representation of contractors in multi-party public works and private construction cases, including condominium association cases. Representation of property owners and contractors in construction defect litigation.
Business Litigation: Prosecution and defense of breach of contract and collection actions; partnership disputes; representation of automobile dealers.
Employment: Representation of employers in employment discrimination suits; Labor Commission hearings.
Municipal: Representation of public agencies.
Mediation: Mr. Heppell is a trained mediator (Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law).
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS AND ACTIVITIES
Mr. Heppell is a former president of the Solano County Bar Association. He is a member of the Solano County Superior Court Arbitration and Mediation Panels. Mr. Heppell has served on the boards of directors of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce, the Benicia Chamber of Commerce, Solano County Legal Assistance, the Benicia-Vallejo Humane Society, and the Solano County Arts Council. He is a member of the Solano County Bar Association, the Real Estate, Business and Litigation Sections of the State Bar of California, and California Lawyers for the Arts.
