Notable Work
State of Indiana v. Norfolk Southern Railway Company
This case dealt with a pre-emption issue between federal railway regulations and centuries' old pattern of state police powers governing the safety of public roads intersecting with rail lines, commonly known as "anti-blocking" statutes. I was an extern for Chief Justice Rush during this time, assisting in the research and drafting of this decision.
