Genevieve Torres | Lutz Divorce & Family Law

With more than seventeen (17) years of dedicated experience in family and marital law, Geneviève H. Torres is a well-respected attorney who blends professional rigor with deep personal understanding.

Born in Montréal, Québec, Geneviève is fluent in French — her first language — and moved to the U.S. where she completed her education. She graduated cum laude from the University of South Florida, where she was a Division I student-athlete on the Women’s Tennis Team, and subsequently earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law.

Before co-founding Scully | Torres – Marital & Family Law, she founded and led Family First Law Group, PLC for over thirteen (13) years, guiding countless clients through difficult transitions with compassion and clarity. Her areas of practice include divorce (both contested and uncontested), collaborative law, paternity, child support, domestic violence, stepparent adoptions, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-judgment modifications, as well as estate work including wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, living wills, and probate.

Known for putting families first, Geneviève combines a settlement-minded approach with courtroom readiness — when litigation is necessary, she represents her clients assertively; when negotiation or mediation serves them better, she seeks those paths. Her own experiences, including divorce and single parenthood, deepen her empathy and enrich her ability to connect with clients through every stage of the legal process.

Outside the courtroom, Geneviève stays active by playing golf and tennis. She is also a proud mother of four (4) children and maintains involvement in her children’s schools. These roles ground her and inform her understanding of family law from both professional and lived perspectives.
