About George

George H. Salley III, born in Miami, Florida, has practiced law in Colorado since early 1981. He graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law, Malibu, California. Listed in Who’s Who in American Law, Mr. Salley maintains his family law practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is estimated that Mr. Salley has represented clients in well over two thousand family law cases as of 2009. George H. Salley III is the only family law attorney in Colorado Springs, Colorado who specializes in "father’s rights" and making sure that men are treated fairly.

George H. Salley III is an effective attorney, who exercises calm, reasoned, professional judgment, balances the cost/benefit of a particular act for the client, seeks to achieve reasonable and realistic goals within the parameters of the law and facts, and is well-respected by the opposing attorney and judge. "Effective" is a relative in a family law case since the outcome of a family law case is usually characterized by attainment of certain goals, minimization of certain negatives, and must be viewed in terms of the impact upon both parties and, especially, children affected by the case.

You are cautioned not to be impressed with silly, meaningless, misleading or childish language employed by some lawyers in advertising or web sites. Claims of being "head of the family law department" or "former JAG trial counsel" or "former deputy district attorney" or most commonly, "aggressive" are nothing more than meaningless nonsense as to the experience, ability or lack of experience and ability in the area of family law. "JAG" or military lawyers DON’T practice family law in the military. "Head of the family law division" is usually a scam to hide small firm structure while trying to look like a big city or high falutin’ law firm. "Deputy District Attorney" is the title given to almost all lawyer-employees of a criminal prosecution office. It is a non-elected position taken by many lawyers who simply wanted courtroom experience or couldn’t get a job in the private sector. Finally, use of the term "aggressive" to describe the lawyer is absurd. If you want a rude, obnoxious lawyer – that is NOT aggressive – that is dumb. A thoroughly prepared, experienced lawyer who exercises excellent professional judgment is who a thinking client desires to represent him or her.
