Mr. Etelson is a member of both the commercial litigation and real estate departments. His practice consists of real estate, corporate, construction, government contract, business and leasing litigation. Mr. Etelson handles all levels of leasing matters, including the drafting and negotiation of complex leases, including shopping centers and office buildings, as well as handling all manner of leasing disputes.

Mr. Etelson has been appointed by the chief administrative judge for the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Maryland to act as a mediator on matters before the court. In 1995, Mr. Etelson made law in the state of Maryland, in the noted case of Kalkreuth Roofing v. West Pointe Plaza II, 109 Md. App 569, 675 A.2d 715 (1995) cert. denied, 343 Md. 564, 683 A.2d 177 (1996), wherein he prevailed before the appellate courts, in a reported opinion, to change the way mechanics liens are pled in Maryland.

Mr. Etelson was appointed by the governor of the state of Maryland to serve on a commission to rewrite the landlord/tenant law of the state of Maryland. In 1997, he was appointed by the governor of the state of Maryland to serve as a trustee of the Chesapeake Bay Trust, a multi-million dollar state-created trust dedicated to supplying grants for education about and the rehabilitation of the Chesapeake Bay. Mr. Etelson is a frequent lecturer to the real estate community on lease drafting, lease negotiations and lease litigation, as well as an instructor with the Maryland Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He also has a strong technology background and teaches courses on computers and the internet for attorneys.
