About Sam
Sam was raised in Concord, California and moved to the Northwest in 1967. He attended Lewis and Clark Law School receiving his law degree in 1975.
One of Sam's principal areas of practice is estate planning and probate, and he is a member and past president of the Estate Planning Council of Southwest Washington. He has extensive experience in wills, trusts, guardianships, community property agreements, powers of attorney, health care directives, estate and gift tax planning and elder law/Medicaid planning. Although Sam has handled hundreds of probates of estates since 1975, he always explores with his clients any possible options for avoiding probate to minimize the time and expense involved in settling the estate of a loved one.
With Weber Gunn, PLLC being a full service law firm, Sam has had the opportunity to develop his practice in several other areas of the law. Two areas that he handles exclusively for the firm are adoptions and bankruptcy. Sam derives a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction helping parents with their adoptions, both infant and stepparent. In his bankruptcy practice he enjoys helping people who are in financial difficulties and are seeking relief from the stress of creditor harassment, garnishments, lawsuits, and are in need a fresh start.
Sam is involved in the community. He served as a member of the Vancouver School District Board of Directors from 1993 to 2006, and has been a member of Salmon Creek Lions Club for twenty-six years. Sam still enjoys playing basketball (when he is not injured). Sam and his wife Vonda have six children and nine grandchildren.
