After graduating from Marian University in Indianapolis, Troy attended the Indiana University McKinney School of Law. While there, he was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Barristers, a national honor society recognizing effective oral advocacy and legal writing skills. He was also a semi-finalist in the Robert H. Staton Moot Court competition, held annually at I.U. McKinney School of Law. Troy interned with Indianapolis-based Thomas Law Firm, P.C., gaining valuable experience in several areas of practice. After college, he worked as a 5th-grade teacher for a year before being accepted into Indiana University School of Law.
