Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

Worker's compensation case representing an employer who was deceived and put on as a member of the company so liability for worker's compensation expenses would fall on him. Negotiated and settled the matter with a 95% reduction in fees he owed. Did the case pro bono.

How did you build a successful practice?

Mostly word of mouth and referrals. I treat each client as how I would want to be treated. Also, I keep clients informed on the matter I am handling for them. That has led to many happy clients that give me repeat business and referrals.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Someone who is knowledgeable on the subject matter and a lawyer who is willing to put the due diligence in to make sure the client is represented appropriately.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

It is important to have local knowledge but not tantamount. Local knowledge can help the process.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I can provide the potential client on if the case is one that is appropriate for me to take on. At the very least I will hear what a potential client has to say and if I can not help them, I will at least try to direct them on how they can try to get assistance on a matter.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

What is the situation and the facts surrounding the case. Contact information such as; Name, phone number, email address, and current address. Also, what does the client want out of the case and payment for my services (flat fee, hourly, payment plan, contingency, etc.)

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I have a laid back approachable demeanor and want to make sure clients feel comfortable speaking with me candidly. I always explain any legalese or terminology a client may not understand and take time to make sure a client is taken care of.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

There are many rewarding aspects of being a lawyer but being able to help out a client who is in a difficult situation is quite rewarding.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Sports, music, spending time with my family and traveling (whether it is a simple day out with the family or going to away to a destination).

Are you involved in your community?

Yes, I am a member of the New York State Bar Association as well as the American Bar Association. Also, I do quite a bit of pro bono work for people that can't afford legal services.
