About J. Christopher
Christopher Jackson represents both individuals and businesses, as plaintiffs and defendants, in a broad range of civil litigation matters. He has particular experience in matters involving serious personal injury, wrongful death and professional negligence, as well as unfair competition and other business torts. He also has considerable experience representing businesses and individuals in a variety of commercial matters, including contract disputes, commercial real estate litigation, and debt collection. Together with his partner, Swain Wood, he represents businesses and individuals in intellectual property litigation, including trademark, trade secret, copyright and patent-related matters. He has litigated cases successfully throughout the state of North Carolina in both federal and state courts, and in various other courts located throughout the Southeast.
Prior to partnering with Swain Wood to form Wood Jackson PLLC, Mr. Jackson practiced in both the public and private sectors. After law school, he practiced as a staff attorney for the Securities and Corporate Practices Division of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington, D.C., where he worked on various projects related to the regulation of the national banking system. He later entered private practice with Kilpatrick Stockton LLP, an international law firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Kilpatrick Stockton, he worked on a broad range of matters for individuals and companies in cases involving complex business disputes, as well as catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims. In 2001 and 2002, Mr. Jackson served as a law clerk for the Honorable I. Beverly Lake, Jr., who at the time was Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
Mr. Jackson is committed to pro bono efforts on behalf of both individuals and charitable organizations. He regularly represents pro bono clients in his community in both large and small matters. In 2004 and 2005, he participated in the Ralph Stockton/Kilpatrick Stockton Fellowship program, which allowed him to work full-time with Legal Aid of North Carolina for several months representing indigent clients. He also donates his time and efforts to various community and charitable organizations.
Mr. Jackson was raised in Sanford, North Carolina. He graduated from the public schools in Lee County, North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with distinction, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where he graduated with honors. While in law school, he was a staff member and an articles editor for the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.
Mr. Jackson is married to Jill Jackson, who is a lawyer and Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. They have a young daughter. Mr. Jackson and his family live in Raleigh.
