About Jacob

Jacob Frenkel is a shareholder with Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker, P.A.'s Corporate Department and chairs the firm's Securities Enforcement and White-Collar Crime Practice Group.  His practice largely consists of representing individuals, public and private corporations, broker-dealers, investment advisers and hedge funds, as well as their officers and directors, in defense of SEC, SRO and state securities investigations; federal and state criminal investigations, particularly financial crimes and public corruption; conducting internal investigations; and counseling corporations and their senior officials in corporate compliance and governance, including Sarbanes-Oxley and USA PATRIOT Act compliance.

Over the past 19 years, Mr. Frenkel served as an Assistant District Attorney in New Orleans, senior counsel in the SEC's Division of Enforcement where he specialized in stock manipulation and financial fraud cases, and federal criminal prosecutor in federal securities law-related cases and public corruption offenses for the Office of Independent Counsel in the investigation of former Secretary of Agriculture Espy.  Mr. Frenkel lectures and publishes widely in his practice areas and is a regular commentator for domestic and foreign wire services, newspapers, radio and television about major financial fraud cases, SEC practice, corporate governance and related legislation.
