How did you build a successful practice?
Our firm has been around since 1991 with a very heavy focus on one practice area - fighting the Florida Department of Revenue on behalf of businesses and individuals. The narrow focus has given us a vast knowledge base on a very narrow area of the law - Florida Sales and Use Tax.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Our partners are both CPA's and Attorneys, so we are qualified to handle both the accounting aspects of a client's problems as well as the legal aspects.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
We handle hundreds of Florida sales and use tax controversies every year. We know the law, the rules, and the procedures of what it takes to get your matter resolved as favorably as possible.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
We will evaluate your case and tell you everything with think needs to be done. We give you the good news and the bad. It is very likely that we have already dealt with the issue you are facing - and we are glad to share our knowledge and experience on the initial phone call. If it looks easy for you to resolve the case on your own, we will tell you that. Only if it looks like you really need an attorney do we recommend you hire us.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
If you have received anything in writing from the FL Department of Revenue, then this would be helpful to review during our call (even if it is 80 pages). We will review the document with you and tell you exactly what we think and what you should expect.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Our primary practice are is Florida Tax Controversy, so while other attorney do federal taxes, business consulting, and touch on Florida tax matters - this is simply what we do all the time every day. If you are want someone that does Florida taxes a few times a month - then try someone else. If you want a law firm that is focused on Florida tax controversy - then we are your firm.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The Florida Department of Revenue attempts to extort money from honest business owners every day. We take great pride in leveling the playing field on behalf of our clients. We simply enjoy what we do.
Are you involved in your community?
I'm heavily involved with the Florida Institute of CPA's and the American Association of Attorney-CPAs.
