James Daigle | Portland Litigation Lawyer

James M. Daigle is a 1987 graduate of the University of Oregon and a 1994 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law. After law school he clerked for The Honorable Frank Bearden, Multnomah County Circuit Court judge, from January 1995 until May 1996. Mr. Daigle served as a prosecutor with the Washington County District Attorney's office from 1996 to 1999 where he gained substantial jury trial experience.
In 1999 Mr. Daigle joined Brisbee & Stockton and began defending a wide variety of civil lawsuits. Since that time he has tried many cases to a jury, including 17 trials in 2003. Mr. Daigle' s practice includes the defense of general contractors, the trades and design professionals in complex construction defect cases involving schools, condominiums, commercial structures and single-family homes. His trial experience includes the defense of hospitals and medical professionals in medical malpractice claims and the defense of individual and corporate clients in negligence cases.  Mr. Daigle also defends claims against attorneys in Oregon through the Professional Liability Fund. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Construction Litigation and Professional Malpractice Defense.
Mr. Daigle is Chair of the Construction Law section of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel. He has also served as a director of the Washington County Bar Association and was a member of the Supplemental Local Rules Committee of the Washington County Circuit Court. Mr. Daigle is admitted to practice in all Oregon and Washington state courts, the United States District Court for Western Washington, the United States District Court for Oregon, and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to law school Mr. Daigle was on active duty as an officer with the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He continued to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve until 1999.
