About James
An associate with Goranson Bain, Jim practices exclusively in the area of family law, handling divorce, custody, pre- and postmarital agreements, enforcement and modification matters.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the litigation department of a Dallas law office handling complex commercial litigation and family law. Since deciding to focus specifically on family law, Jim has handled numerous cases involving complex financial, property and custody issues.
He is a magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rhodes College and earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in 2006. While in law school, Jim was administrative director and editor of the SMU Science and Technology Law Review. He also worked as a civil clinic student attorney, a student mentor and an SMU Moot Court Board Education Committee member.
