James Frederick Nichols, Attorney

James Nichols is our managing attorney and specializes in litigation.  James maintains a general civil litigation practice with emphasis on commercial & business litigation, family law & divorce, contract disputes and real estate litigation.

James focuses on Father's Rights in his divorce practice and counsels and represents fathers in gaining custody of their children, protecting assets, and making the transition to single parenting.

James also represents business partners in contentious partnership disputes where success of the business is on the line and assets are at risk.

James also represents clients (both plaintiffs and defendants) in complex real estate transactions and litigation.  He has experience representing land developers and builders in litigation, zoning matters and transactions.

Prior to starting the firm, James clerked for several law firms around Salt lake County gaining experience in a number of practice areas and learning the profession from several of Utah's best lawyers.  He also served a one year internship with the Salt Lake County District Attorney's office where he was immersed in the criminal process and gained experience prosecuting crimes, including conducting multiple trials.

During his time at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, James  competed in the moot court and trial advocacy competitions.
