About Janet
Janet is a business attorney with the firm of Henningson & Snoxell, Ltd., located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Janet helps clients grow their businesses by handling complex business and employment issues before they become expensive situations. She develops strong relationships with clients by getting to know their businesses so she can provide proactive advice regarding relevant legal issues, and anticipate and head off problems. Janet represents a broad range of individuals and companies. She provides general corporate and employment advice to a variety of businesses, including large and small companies, as well as nonprofit organizations and religious institutions. She has worked with construction, technical, industrial, entertainment and medical services organizations, as well as churches and nonprofits, and many more. Defending against sexual harassment and disability charges, both at the administrative and court levels.
- Enforcing the terms of corporate purchase agreements
- Obtaining tax-exempt status for nonprofits
- Drafting employee handbooks and contracts
- Negotiating and drafting commercial purchase agreements, on behalf of the buyer or the seller
- Training supervisors and employees to avoid discrimination charges
Before practicing law, she worked in human resource management in the insurance industry. Janet understands the pressures businesses face, and management in particular, when she develops legal and practical solutions for our clients.
Janet is a member of the North Star Chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management and serves as Legislative Director on their Board. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association and an active member of Minnesota Women Lawyers. Janet is a member of the Minnesota and Hennepin County Bar Associations, and has been recognized by the Minnesota State Bar Association for excellence in labor law and employment law. She is admitted into the state and federal courts in Minnesota and the Eighth Circuit.

Janet's volunteer activities include serving as an officer in her local elementary school PTO, serving as a director for a local nonprofit child care co-op, organizing clothing drives, serving as a high school mock trial judge, and assisting in various church and community activities.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Janet received her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, summa cum laude, where she was an Executive Editor of the William Mitchell Law Review. She received her B.S. from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, summa cum laude. Prior to joining Henningson & Snoxell in 2005, Janet practiced law with a large Minneapolis employment law firm. She lives with her family in Maple Grove.
