About Janmarie
JANMARIE TOKER is a native of Portland Maine, graduating from Catherine McAuley High School, Bates College and the University of Maine School of Law. In addition to the state and federal courts in Maine, Janmarie is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the District of Columbia and the First Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. She devotes her practice to federal longshore cases and has been helping BIW workers through the longshore system for over twenty years. Janmarie joined the firm in 1986 and became a partner in 1990. Janmarie has spoken on workers' compensation law, including most recently presenting the employee's perspective in the Advanced Workers' Compensation Law seminar. Janmarie has also authored "Maine's Workers' Compensation Law as It Affects Maine's Working Women". Before joining McTeague Higbee, Janmarie served as an Assistant District Attorney in York County.
