About Jay
Jay Sandak, a Stamford native and Founding Partner of the firm, has practiced in Connecticut for thirty-five years. He has extensive trial experience in personal injury and commercial litigation including professional liability, land use, complex condemnation, business torts and intellectual property cases. His trial skills formed a solid foundation for him when he serves as a private Mediator and Arbitrator. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association Panel of Neutrals and continues to serve as a Special Master for the U.S. Federal District Court of Connecticut and the Connecticut Superior Court where he has served for twenty years.
He is frequently requested to lecture on mediation skills and the role of attorneys in the mediation process. His litigation background has been supplemented by serving as Corporation Counsel for the City of Stamford and representing multiple municipal police unions in grievance and unfair labor practice proceedings. He holds a B.A. degree from Colby College (1964) and J.D. degree from Syracuse University College of Law (1971). Before starting private practice, he was a law clerk at the United States Court of Claims, Washington, D.C.
