About Jean
Attorney Jean Porcello-Giusto received her B.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts at Boston in 1982 with a double major in English and Political Science and her J.D. degree from Massachusetts School of Law in 1993. She has been practicing in Salem, Massachusetts, for over 15 years.
Jean began her practice as an Essex County Bar Advocate where she represented criminal defendants in the District Court and juveniles subject to care and protection cases in the Juvenile Court. Today, Jean's practice is predominately in the area of domestic relations and family law, including divorce, child support and custody, paternity and pre-nuptials. She has argued before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts that siblings should not be separated and in 2009 she represented the Plaintiff in one of Essex County's first same-sex divorce cases.
Jean is currently the President of the Salem Bar Association and has served on the boards of the Salem Five Bank, the North Shore Women Lawyers Association, and the Salem Bar Association. Jean was also a 2008 delegate to the Massachusetts Democratic Convention and is a member of the Manchester-by-the-Sea Democratic Town Committee.
