About Jeffrey

Jeffrey J. Blumel is a partner with the firm and a member of the litigation department. He joined the firm in 1998, after spending nine years with another Omaha law firm. Mr. Blumel focuses his practice on civil litigation, estate planning, probate, and general corporate matters.

Mr. Blumel has extensive experience in civil litigation and advises clients in commercial transaction disputes, contract disputes, commercial and residential landlord/tenant matters, bankruptcy matters, construction issues, workers' compensation matters, and personal injury claims. He represents his clients in both state and federal court, the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court and before administrative agencies, local boards and councils and is also familiar with the issues and procedures concerning political subdivisions.

Mr. Blumel also has extensive experience in the representation of the purchasers of tax certificates, including the handling of all aspects of the foreclosure of tax certificates.

In his estate planning and probate practice, Mr. Blumel counsels and assists clients in drafting wills, trusts and powers of attorney. He also handles the probate of wills and is familiar with Douglas County Probate procedures. In addition, Mr. Blumel regularly represents clients in guardianship and conservatorship matters.

Mr. Blumel handles numerous general corporate matters for small businesses, from the formation of small business entities and preparation of agreements among the business owners, to contract and lease disputes.

Mr. Blumel obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1986 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1989.

He is a member of the Omaha and Nebraska State Bar Associations and the Kentucky Bar Association.
