Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Elkins relocated to Orlando in 1999. She is a graduate of Barry University School of Law where she was a member of the school's Law Review and Moot Court team. She is licensed to practice in the State of Florida, Federal Court in the Middle District of Florida and the District of Columbia.

Ms. Elkins is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Prior to forming the Elkins Law Firm, she was a law clerk for Circuit Court Judge Walter Komanski in Orange County, and worked as a child advocate in Barry University's Children and Families Legal Clinic.
