In 1985 Jennifer L. Motycka earned a Bachelor Of Music in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado with a Minor emphasis in General Business. She received the Presidential Scholarship and Pearl Beaver Gleason Academic Scholarship while attending the University of Northern Colorado.

In 1985 Jennifer L. Motycka began Law School at the University Of Colorado. While attending Law School she worked as a Law Clerk for Wells, Love & Scoby in Boulder, Colorado, emphasizing in commercial, real estate and construction litigation. She also worked for the University of Colorado Legal Aid and Defender Program. She earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University Of Colorado in 1989.
