About Jeremy
Bell Law was founded in 2005 by Jeremy Bell, a Chicago Kent College of Law graduate, who has been in practice for over five years. Attorney Bell spent his first two years out of law school as a litigator at Quinn, Johnston, Henderson & Pretorius, an insurance defense firm, in Peoria, Illinois. He defended policy holders of various insurers, including State Farm, Allstate and Country Companies. He represented the policy holders in personal injury, premises liability, commercial litigation, defamation, and medical malpractice cases. It was in this capacity that he gained extraordinarily valuable courtroom experience that his peers in Chicago were not yet at a level to enjoy.
After two years as a litigator, Attorney Bell began practicing transactional law at Vonachen, Lawless, Trager & Slevin in Peoria. He gained valuable experience in diverse areas of the law, including real estate, small business/corporate, tax, professional licensure, estate planning and municipal. Among these varied cases he drafted commercial and residential leases; incorporated small business owners (including physicians and dentists); represented an RN who was faced with a narcotics theft charges; drafted wills, trusts and powers of attorney; and prepared tax returns.
In addition to Attorney Bell's formal legal education and training, he is a very experienced negotiator, drawing from his undergraduate education at DePaul University in Chicago. He graduated with honors with a degree in Industrial/Organization Psychology, a field that focuses on developing interpersonal skills, evaluating and adjusting to human behavior and social dynamics. This has provided Attorney Bell with an advantage in his negotiations and, more generally, his practice of law.
