Joel B. Flowers, III is a loving husband, father of three, and the consummate trial attorney. He decided to become an attorney so that he could do right for those who have been wronged. His favorite quote is, "Knowledge is power."

In the legal profession, attorneys say that great facts make good lawyers. Joel has had a lot of great facts. Following a jury verdict in favor of one of his clients, in a post-verdict interview, one juror called him, a pit bull. After another jury verdict in favor of his client, a juror said, He's believable. In the middle of another trial, after Joel cross examined an expert witness, the court's court reporter stated, I've been doing this for a long, long time, and he's got it.' He has command of courtroom. The jury found in favor of his client in that case too. Finally, in another case, after the senior partner and associate put on their client's case, the judge stated that there was no evidence of the defendant's negligence and he would rule against the plaintiff. The next day of trial, on cross examination, Joel got the defendant's own expert to admit that the defendant was negligent. The jury found in favor of Joel's client.

Joel speaks at Continuing Legal Education conferences on the tools of his trade that have made him a successful trial attorney. In 2006, he was selected as one of Houston 's Top Lawyers by H magazine. His proudest moment as an attorney came after only four years of practicein a pretrial conference, the judge warned the senior partner and Joel that a six figure settlement with one of the defendants would be tough to beat at trialthey beat it and the jury awarded $2.1 million.
