About John

John A. Bannerman, President of the Firm, was born in Chadron, Nebraska, in 1947, grew up in Grants, New Mexico, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of New Mexico in 1969 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1972.  He was a business editor of the New Mexico Law Review and the Natural Resources Journal in 1971 and 1972.  Mr. Bannerman is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, a former Director of the Trial Practice Section and is a former Chair and current member of the Board of the Health Law Section.  He is a member of the New Mexico State Bar's Standing Committee on Professional Liability.  He is active in the American Health Lawyers Association, the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute.  He is rated av by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.* During his career, Mr. Bannerman has been a U.S. Navy Judge Advocate, has appeared in courts and agencies throughout New Mexico in the areas of health law, employment law, complex litigation involving insurance, products liability and professional liability.

Mr. Bannerman is a well-known speaker and has participated in many continuing education and health-related seminars.  He has published many articles involving health care and lawyer professional responsibility.  He is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in New Mexico and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, Colorado.

Mr. Bannerman has been listed in Best Lawyers in America ** from 1993 to the present, Who's Who In American Law in 1992 to present, and in Outstanding Young Men in America in 1979.  He is active in his church and has served on many non-profit boards, including the Advisory Board for Carrie Tingley Children's Hospital and New Mexico Christian Legal Aid, Inc.
