John Cantril is a native of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and has spent time in many states before making North Carolina his home. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Later, he earned his JD from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
In his free time, John enjoys exploring North Carolina. He loves to vacation in the mountains and at the beach. John also likes checking out all of Raleigh’s local restaurants and craft breweries. John is an avid golfer who enjoys the beautiful courses in North Carolina and the ability to play all year. He’s even taken on the herculean task of assisting partner Kyle Smalling with his golf game. John also enjoys watching college basketball and football fan. As a newbie to tobacco road, he is having the time of his life experiencing ACC basketball in the Triangle.
John handles various practice areas for Capital City Law including investment crowdfunding offerings, business formations, contracts, intellectual property, and residential and commercial real estate. John has developed a network of resources that help guide startup businesses through the complex process of starting an investment crowdfunding campaign, as well as help more established businesses with later stage business issues.
