John F. Hipp has been a New Jersey licensed attorney for over three decades. He was admitted to the Bar of the New Jersey State Courts and U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey in 1985; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in 1986 and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1987. Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I was able to successfully assist a homeowner whose property was contaminated by a neighbor's leaking underground heating oil tank.
How did you build a successful practice?
Primarily through referrals from clients. Some through the Internet.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
An attorney who can accurately evaluate the client's problems and provide effective, realistic solutions.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
For my practice, local knowledge is not a very important factor.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
Phone conversations with potential clients are limited to understanding the nature of their problem and assessing whether or not I have the capability to assist them. I do not offer legal advice over the phone. I offer a free in-office consultation.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I need contact information and a synopsis of the legal problem.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Experience and availability. My Clients always speak to me directly, not to an assistant, and I have flexible fee arrangements.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
My interests include music, writing and computer programming.

I served as Mayor of my community and have served on a number of non profit Boards.
