About Joseph

Joe Furton is a veteran litigator in Michigan courts. Prior to founding Furton Camps, Joe held positions from law clerk to partner at two of Michigan's largest employment law firms.

Joe has also developed his own specialized employment and civil litigation practice. He has both prosecuted and defended 'bet the company' style cases ranging from employment and pension class actions to multi-million dollar automobile supply chain litigation.

Joe has represented Fortune 500 companies, cities, hospitals, public and private schools, auto suppliers, law firms, trucking companies, auto dealerships, manufacturers, steel processors, construction companies, retail chains, real estate developers, financial institutions and advertising agencies.

Joe also has significant experience in arbitration, negotiation, facilitation and counseling. He has spoken before the American Society of Employers and contributed to Michigan Labor and Employment Law Notes. He is or has been affiliated with such diverse practice groups as the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel and the American Trial Lawyers Association.

Joe's undergraduate and law degrees are from the University of Michigan, both with honors.

Joe is a lifelong Michigan resident. He lives in Dearborn, Michigan with his wife and two children. (Mr. Furton is not licensed to practice law in California.)
