About Joseph
Joe Zopolsky received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 1996. While at Emory, he double-majored in Spanish and Economics, and was a member of the nationally ranked varsity baseball team.
Joe earned his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in May 2001. While at South Texas, Joe served as the Assistant Managing Editor of the International Trade Law Journal, participated in Moot Court and Mock Trial, was a member of the Board of Advocates, Phi Delta Phi, and Delta Theta Phi, and earned the American Jurisprudence awards in both Amateur and Professional Sports Law. Joe earned his Masters of Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 2008 after attending weekend classes on a part-time basis.
Joe has six articles published, to date: Limitations of Liability Provisions in Utility Tariffs Against the Backdrop of Deregulation, Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel Quarterly, Spring 2006; Utilities Regulation, Buffalo Environmental Law Journal, Spring 2004; Censorship on the Internet: Who Should Make the Rules?, Oklahoma Journal of Law and Technology, Spring 2003; HIV-Infected Healthcare Workers and Practice Modification, University of North Dakota Law Review, Vol. 78, No. 1, 2002; Statutory Defenses Available to Utilities, Corporate Counsel Review, November 2001; and Implementing the FTAA: A Survey of Unification Efforts Within the Americas Over the Past Ten Years, Currents: The International Trade Journal, Winter 2000.
Joe is a member of the American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, State Bar of Texas, College of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Inc., Texas Young Lawyers Association, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, Dallas Volunteer Lawyer Association, and the St. Mark's School of Texas Alumni Board. In 2007, he was awarded the St. Mark's School of Texas Young Alumni Service Citation.
Joe has represented commercial, insurance, and individual clients in hundreds of civil lawsuits over the course of his career.
