Judy Lam represents large and small companies and entrepreneurs in complex business litigation matters, including business torts, class actions, franchise, construction and real estate cases. She considers the best interests of her clients during all stages of resolving a dispute, from inception through conclusion via trial or mediation. She tailors her skills to the client's best advantage for their particular case, whether it's aggressive litigation or skillful negotiation.

Judy is particularly experienced in real estate disputes and banking litigation, as well as general business disputes of all kinds including fraud. She has obtained full or significant recovery in cases involving complex defaulted loans, bankruptcy and franchise disputes. In her representation of financial institutions, she aggressively litigates matters of lender liability, prejudgment remedies, workouts and bankruptcy. She is creative and strategic in litigating or resolving multi-party fraud and investment schemes and multi-party construction disputes while being sensitive to minimizing negative publicity and collateral consequences.

Fluent in Cantonese and conversant in Mandarin Chinese, Judy represents many Asian clients in all aspects of their business planning and execution, and many companies seeking to do business in Asia or with the Asian community.

• Represents a major real estate investment company in a $20 million construction dispute concerning construction and fiduciary duties.
• Represented Chinese and Chinese American banks in recovering full balance due under $11 million defaulted hotel loan that included a sale in bankruptcy.
• Represents franchisors in negotiations and disputes with non-complying franchisees; leasing and construction issues.
• Represents national real estate brokerage house in actions by disgruntled clients and salespersons, multi-party disputes over sale transactions and commissions, fraud claims and navigating parallel investigations by governmental authorities.
• Trial lawyer in fraudulent conveyance actions.
• Defended restaurant clients in wage/hour class action.
• Lead attorney for a national brokerage firm who successfully avoided civil and criminal liability in a real estate fraud scheme resulting in multi-million dollar losses for other firms.
