About Julia

Ms. Henry is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She has extensive civil litigation experience and currently limits her practice to family law. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1993; the US Court of Appeal (5th Circuit) in 2000; and the US District Courts, Northern and Eastern Division in 1999. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Family Law Section; the Texas State Bar, Family Law Section; the Dallas Bar Association, Family Law Section; the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists; the Texas Family Law Foundation; and the Annette Steward Inn of Court Dallas. Ms. Henry is also a qualified Family Law arbitrator. Ms. Henry received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas, her law degree from Texas Southern University, and has served as a visiting Associate Judge for the Dallas County Family Courts. Ms. Henry was born in Chula Vista, California.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

In August of 2013, Ms. Henry was lead counsel in Cooke County representing wife in a divorce action. During the pendency of this case, husband did not comply with discovery: refusing to supplement discovery responses and failing to disclose a bank account. Husband also did not comply with the temporary orders issued in this case. At trial Ms. Henry prevailed in obtaining discovery sanctions in the amount of $25,000.00 and having husband held in contempt for failing to comply with temporary orders resulting in judgments for a total of $7,455 plus attorney's fees.
