After a career in addictions counseling Mr. Hughes turned his sights on the law. Mr. Hughes began his career handling personal injury claims for injured parties and representing clients in municipal court. The next seven years was spent litigating Superior Court criminal matters in both Mercer and Gloucester counties. Mr. Hughes has recently extended into federal practice and is now approved to practice before the United States District Court of New Jersey.
Mr. Hughes has handled 1st Degree Murder/Att. Murder, Drug Induced Death, drug cases, gun cases, sexual assault and many others. He has secured the release of defendants in high profile matters. The ability to vehemently argue for release at the detention hearing phase was sharpened by dedicating an entire year arguing detention motions and filing and winning several appeals after the trial court ordered detention.
