Mr. Geist has successfully prosecuted lawsuits against The United States, major corporations, municipalities and medical professionals in both federal and state courts in New Jersey. He has successfully defended scores of police officers in departmental, criminal and civil rights trials. He has defended countless persons accused of crime. He has both prosecuted and defended domestic violence cases and he has tried divorce and custody cases in seven of New Jersey’s counties. His municipal court and DWI trial experience is similarly vast.
Among his credits, Mr. Geist successfully sued the United States in federal court for the wrongful death of a patient at the hospital at West Point. He won his client’s acquittal in a three-month-long New York murder prosecution where over thirty witnesses including six forensic experts and an alleged eyewitness testified for the prosecution. He won custody for a father of two young children when such results were rare. Over 30 years ago, in a landmark decision, he established the right of a child to sue his mother for injuries caused by her negligent driving.
