About Kate
Kate joined the firm in 1988. She maintains a general practice of law with an emphasis on family law, matrimonial law and real estate law. She handles complex matrimonial matters, including contested divorce proceedings, custody disputes, post judgment modifications and pre-nuptial agreements. She is regularly appointed as guardian ad litem for the benefit of minor children of parents involved in custody disputes. She has testified before the Connecticut State Legislature in support of the best interest of minor children as it relates to custody issues in same sex custody disputes and in support of pending co-guardianship legislation. She has also practiced for many years in the area of real estate law representing clients purchasing, selling and refinancing residential and commercial property.
Kate is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the New Haven County Bar Association and the Meriden Bar Association. Kate also serves as a Special Master for family law cases in the New Haven Superior Court as well as the Meriden Superior Court.
Kate is a life-long resident of Wallingford, having been schooled in Wallingford public schools and then graduating from Choate Rosemary Hall. She earned a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from the University of Bridgeport, where she was an editor of the University of Bridgeport Law Review; a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society; and an intern with the Connecticut Chief State's Attorney's Office.
Kate is married with two children. She continues as an active board member of the Wallingford Family YMCA, having served as vice-chair in 2004 - 2006 as well as a board member of the Wallingford Education Foundation. She also volunteers in the Wallingford Public School system.
