Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I had a client recently who was charged with a felony DUI. As is common, the client had no criminal history other than DUI but was facing significant issues with regard to employment, a school she was attending and the course of her future if convicted. After a careful and detailed review of the facts of her case, we were able to mount an effective defense that resulted in a not guilty verdict at the conclusion of a jury trial. The acquittal enabled my client to keep her life plan on track and avoid the long term consequences of a felony on her record.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

In selecting a lawyer, clients should look for someone they can trust and with whom they can communicate. It should be someone they feel comfortable with as effective communication between the lawyer and client is crucial to the preparation of an effective defense in all types of cases.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

In a free initial consultation, I am happy to discuss the facts of the case, answer any specific questions the client may have, cover all potential penalties based upon the charges in the case and discuss possible outcomes and potential defenses. Many times, just making the client aware of what exactly they are facing goes a long way to putting their mind at ease.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

What sets me apart from other lawyers in the area is my dedication to providing personal service to my clients. Like other attorneys, I stay abreast of new developments in the law and stay current on continuing education in my field of practice. In addition, I maintain memberships in associations that give me access to information and other lawyers for the exchange of ideas and information that is invaluable in effectively representing my clients. More often than not, when a client calls, they will speak with me rather than a secretary or assistant.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my work is helping clients achieve the best possible result in their case. The pinnacle is getting a not guilty verdict for a client but even when that is not possible, preparing the case to the fullest extent possible to maximize the ability to get a good result is still rewarding.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Outside of the practice of law, my main hobby is motorcycle riding. I love to get out on the road by myself and find that riding is a great way to escape and also provides an opportunity to think about pending cases. I also ride with a local group and like to take extended trips on the bike as well.
