He maintains a "hands on" practice and is very involved with all cases handled by the firm. He takes pride in helping individuals both legally and emotionally after they have suffered a traumatic accident.

Participation in both professional and community activities has been an important aspect of Ken's career. He has been active with the American Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and El Paso County Bar Association. He is currently serving as an elected representative to the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors. He is also active with legislative affairs through the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and has previously served as a representative to the American Judicature Society.

Ken is a leader in both the Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs communities. He was selected to attend the Center for Creative Leadership, Community Leadership Program and the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute. His leadership abilities have been demonstrated as a founding member of the Pikes Peak Challenge, a brain and spinal cord injury prevention and awareness program; Arts for All; The Mineral Springs Foundation; and the Manitou Springs Education Foundation. As a member of the District 14 Board of Education, he achieved recognition for completing the Colorado Association of School Boards leadership mastery academy program.

Ken has developed a recognized expertise as a practitioner in the area of alternative dispute resolution. He was instrumental in the early development of mediation programs in Colorado Springs and in several areas around the country. He was responsible for the development of the Neighborhood Justice Center, a program of the Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office, and a founder of Family Mediation Associates. As a member of the staff of the Colorado Judicial Department Office of Dispute Resolution since 1996 and the founder of the Center for Conflict Resolution, Ken has facilitated over 400 mediation and settlement conferences. He is often called upon by judges and plaintiff and defense lawyers to assist with the resolution of civil cases.

While attending the University of Colorado, Boulder from 1972-1976, Ken developed his love for the mountains and outdoors. After graduating from Capital University Law School, Columbus, Ohio in 1979, he returned to Colorado to start his law and mediation practice and to raise his family. He is a proud father of two sons and has been married to Sandy for 23 years. He enjoys numerous outdoor activities and has climbed many of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks. He skis, bikes and runs regularly and has participated in the Pikes Peak Ascent, numerous triathlons and other sporting events. He continues to be active in spite of a back injury many years ago. As the founder of Challenge Rehabilitation, he often assisted his clients in regaining the belief and confidence that they can maintain an active lifestyle in spite of an injury.

Ken continues to take pride in his work as both a lawyer and community member. He is an energetic and highly motivated individual who will work hard for his clients. He believes strongly in the use of alternative dispute resolution methods to resolve disputes; however, he is also a skilled trial attorney who will not hesitate to litigate to protect the rights of injured victims.
