About Kenneth

More Than 35 Years of Experience Advocating for the Rights of the Injured Maximize your benefits due and obtain some measure of justice or closure My name is Kenneth Wolfe, Jr., and for more than 35 years, my workers’ compensation law practice has helped Illinoisans from all walks of life get justice and the benefits that are due them as a result of their workplace injuries. A highly personal, personal injury practice My practice does not follow the big-law-firm business model, for a reason. In managing a smaller number of cases, I can provide my clients with closer, more personal attention, and I can develop a deeper understanding of their needs and concerns. My approach is to be more accessible so that I can facilitate attorney-client communication — an essential component in successfully meeting the many deadlines and conditions that stand between your claim and the full benefits and compensation that you might be entitled to. I press your case, and I don’t let up When it comes to workers’ compensation claims, applicable legal agreements and state laws can be complicated. Witnesses may need to testify. And expert witnesses, too. There also may be several ways to go about seeking redress, each with far-reaching implications. Typically, there are several strategic decisions to be made. And once a line of attack is determined, it’s important that you or your representative stay on top of your claim. Why should your claim languish — or you miss out on your full entitlement — because a deadline has been missed or because a document has not been submitted correctly?

My practice is committed to providing those who have been wronged with a thorough, assertive — and vigilant — legal strategy and follow-through.

How did you build a successful practice?
A case where I made a difference in the recent past involved a factory worker who was off work due to an injury and not receiving medical care or lost time benefits. He was the sole breadwinner for his family and their situation was dire. I got him to a network of physicians who treated him on spec and got benefits started. He recently was able to return to work and I got him a significant lump sum settlement. I built a successful practice through word of mouth from former clients and referral attorneys. I also have had cases referred to me by doctors who were familiar with my work and even defense lawyers and insurance adjusters who knew that I would zealously represent their friends and family members who were hurt on the job.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?
I think the main thing clients should look for in a lawyer is communication. Too many attorneys think they are too busy to call or email their clients. I think it is the most important part of the job. Local knowledge is also important. I have learned over the years which doctors are good and which ones are to be avoided, and have developed a network of top-notch treaters who are patient and worker-friendly. Very often a good physical recovery is more important than the monetary settlement.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I do free phone consultations during which I convey information about the process and what a reasonable outcome might look like. What I need from the prospective client is information about how and when the injury occurred, the position of the employer, and the nature of the treatment received.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
What sets me apart from other lawyers is the degree of personal involvement in my cases. I left my old firm where I was the senior partner in 2006 and started a solo practice. When a client calls my office to speak to a lawyer, they get me and not some bored associate. I genuinely like and appreciate my clients, and their gratitude at the conclusion of a case is the most rewarding part of my job.
