Kenneth A. Norsworthy, Attorney

Ken Norsworthy was born in Dallas, Texas on March 11, 1949. He attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas from 1967 earning a B. A. in philosophy in 1971 and then he entered Baylor Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1973.  

While attending Baylor Ken was commissioned as an officer in the U. S. Air Force after completion of the Reserve Officer Training Corps program requirements. Upon passing the Texas Bar exam and becoming licensed to practice in Texas he entered the military on active duty as a legal officer with the Air Force.  Ken was married to Rebecca Anne Key of Garland , Texas, also a Baylor graduate, in 1971 prior to entering law school. Becky, a journalism graduate, helped put Ken through law school by working as a reporter for the Waco Tribune Herald.  After law school Ken was assigned, accompanied by Becky, to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska and entered active service there in June 1974.

Ken served as an assistant judge advocate officer (JAG), until 1978 when he and  Becky decided to separate from the military and establish a permanent residency in Anchorage.  Upon his separation from military service with an honorable discharge he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his meritorious service over two years as a full time defense counsel representing hundreds of service members in administrative discharge hearings and judicial actions for violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.  It was through those courts-martial cases that Ken gained his early trial experience which helped him decide to pursue the career path of a trial lawyer.

Ken entered private practice in 1978 in Anchorage. He worked with local firms for several years, where he was exposed to a variety of practice areas.  In 1983 he opened his own firm in downtown Anchorage and built it over the next several years into a general practice firm employing associate and junior partner attorneys, handling a mixed-business and individual clientele. From 1983 to the present Ken focused his practice on civil litigation, especially in the areas of personal injury, product liability, professional negligence, employment, insurance and military law.

Today Ken continues to operate his own law firm, presently as a sole practitioner, still emphasizing civil litigation.  His firm  continues to serve Alaska residents and non-residents in a large variety of legal matters.  Over the years he has had the opportunity to help hundreds of individuals and small business owners solve both small and large problems, many of which required lengthy jury trials both in and outside of Alaska. 

Ken is an active member in good standing of the Alaska and Texas Bar Associations and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.  At present, the firm's offices are located in the Mt. McKinley Professional Building on Anchorage's historic Fourth Avenue, in the downtown west side district, one-half block from the main State Court House complex.
