About Kent

Kent has practiced law in Pocatello, Idaho, for almost 20 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in American Studies (1984) from Brigham Young University. For law school he stayed at BYU and attended the J. Reuben Clark Law School. (1987). He has been admitted to practice before all Idaho state and federal Courts, all Utah state and federal Courts; and the United States Court of Claims (1995).

In his 20 years Kent has litigated numerous cases dealing with a wide variety of issues. His recent focus has been on insurance law and defense of both insurance companies and their insured. These cases have included personal injury, including wrongful death, brain injury, but also construction law. He has handled appeals to both the Idaho Appellate and Supreme Courts and has handled several federal district court cases.

Kent has enjoyed having several prominent local clients, such as business men, ranchers, potato farmers and corporations (including Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho). Kent has also represented out of state companies including syndicates of Lloyds of London, Mutual of Enumclaw, Travelers Ins., and AAA Auto Ins.

Kent has served on the Board of Directors at Aid for Friends and is currently the Chairmen of the Board of Trustees for the Spaulding Foundation, benefiting ISU, down town Pocatello, and the Pocatello Symphony.
